![]() This will make it much easier to find the top winners. Instead, in a new column use the SORT() function. If you sort column F by using the default/built in sort feature, I believe this will sort all of your columns, which may mess up your data. From there, the top 123 numbers will be your winners. From there, in your new column F, which is labeled "Rank", you would use the formula D2*E2. This will assign a random number to each user. Starting in cell E2, you will use the function RAND() and drag it down the length of your column. I would add 1 column to the right of that called "random number" or something along those lines. In column D, you have your probability column. And even if you did get that to work, you have more people than prizes, so you will need a duplicate zero for people who didn't win anything. I got the idea from this site:įrom what I've found, there is no way in Google to get a random whole integer without duplicates without extra work to the formula. I don't think this is exactly what you are looking for, but since you want something asap, it may work for you. I was thinking of trying to randomly assign numbers 1-123 (#1 would be the $100 prize, #2-3 would be $50, etc.) to entries 1-5811, without double picking the same person, but I don't know how I'd make the last part happen.Īny ideas? Would greatly appreciate any help.īonus if I understand how you're getting there, but I only know basic coding/formula principles and really I just need to find a way to do this asap, so in the immediate term I don't really need to understand how it works so long as it does.Įdit: Added probabilities in (user's # entries/total entries).maybe I can use those somehow instead of entry #s? Is it possible to do this in Google Sheets, and if so how would you do it? Each entrant should win no more than 1 prize. There are 259 entrants, and each entrant has between 5 and 58 entries. To enable the weights, you need to choose ‘Some entries can have different chance of winning’ in the project setup, otherwise the weights will not be used.I'm trying to select winners for a sweepstakes in which each user has multiple entries. Option 2 assigns a prize to the person only once. The difference is that the person can win several times in option 1. If a person buys for example 10 tickets, you can:īoth options increase his chance to win 10 times compared to people with a single ticket. There are two ways how to handle multiple entries in your list. ![]() Weights have an influence on the project rating score.Weight value is displayed for all winners. ![]()
